PTI offers knowledge based training and certification workshops for field personnel
shown to comply with requirements of IBC, ACI 318, and ACI 301. Proper
training and education of personnel involved in post-tensioning (PT)
field operations—installers, inspectors, engineers, and others—are
vital to ensuring the performance, serviceability, durability, and
safety of PT concrete construction. Please refer to the workshop
descriptions for certification requirements and detailed flyers below
outlining important course information and pricing.
WHICH WORKSHOP DO I NEED?
Single-Strand Unbonded
High-rise, slab-on-ground, and light commercial buildings in the US
are typically constructed with unbonded monostrand/single-strand
post-tensioning:
Multistrand Bonded or Unbonded
Bridges and infrastructure projects are typically constructed with
multistrand (bonded/grouted or unbonded/flexible fillers)
post-tensioning:
How Do I Achieve Level 2 Certification?
If you already have Level 1, you can obtain
Level 2 certification in the following ways:
- If you originally took a Level 1&2 Unbonded workshop,
scored higher than 80% on your exam, you can just obtain the work
experience, submit the affidavit, and Level 2 certification will be
issued. You have up to 8 years from your original certification date to
submit the work experience.
- If you originally took a Level 1 Unbonded workshop, you may
register for a Level 1&2 workshop, attend Days 2 and 3 of the Level 1&2 Unbonded PT Installer & Inspector workshop, sit for the exam, and submit the work experience to
obtain Level 2 certification.
- If you originally took a Level 1&2 Multistrand and Grouted
workshop, scored higher than 80% on your exam, you can just obtain the
work experience, submit the affidavit, and Level 2 certification will
be issued. You have up to 8 years from your original certification date
to submit the work experience.
- If you originally took a Level 1&2 Multistrand and Grouted
workshop, scored between 70-79% on your exam, you must retake the
entire workshop, exam, and submit the work experience affidavit to
obtain Level 2 Multistrand and Grouted certification.
- If you originally took a Level 1&2 Repair workshop, scored
higher than 80% on your exam, you can just obtain the work experience,
submit the affidavit, and Level 2 certification will be issued. You
have up to 8 years from your original certification date to submit the
work experience.
Certification Workshop Policies
Refund / Cancellation / Transfers
PTI will refund
registration fees if cancelled in advance of the workshop as follows:
100% of the fees will be refunded for requests made more than 21 days
in advance of the workshop. The fee less an $150 cancellation charge
will be refunded for requests made 8 to 21 days in advance. No refunds
will be issued for requests made within 7 days of the workshop. A
registration can be transferred to another workshop of the same type
within the same calendar year within 3 days before the workshop; in such
case a transfer fee of $200 will be charged. NO Exceptions to this
policy can be granted as PTI makes commitments with venues ahead of
time.
PTI reserves the right to cancel or reschedule workshops at any time,
and in such case, will refund 100% of the registration fees. If PTI
cancels or reschedules a workshop in which you are enrolled, you will
be contacted at the e-mail address you provided when registering.
Venue size limitations may require some classes to place a cap on
registration prior to the workshop. Workshops fill quickly, register
early to ensure your space.
For registrations 7 days or closer to the workshop, a $100
administrative surcharge will be added.
Language of Instruction, Exams, and Workbooks
Instruction language of these workshops is English. All attendees must
understand, speak and read basic English. For Spanish workshops please

Professional Development Hours
It is the responsibility of the attendee to verify that the PDH contact
hours earned at the workshop meet the requirements of the state board
of professional licensure for continuing education credits.
ID Requirements
A valid government-issued ID is required to take all exams.
ADA REQUIREMENTS
PTI Individual Certification Programs fully comply with ADA requirements for testing accommodations and test score reporting.
