Staff Changes Announced at Post-Tensioning Institute:

(Sept. 12, 2023) FARMINGTON HILLS, Michigan – The Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) – the recognized technical and promotional leader for the advancement of the post-tensioning industry – is pleased to announce key staff changes that went into effect recently, reinforcing our commitment to excellence and growth within the organization.

Tim Christle, P.E., has been appointed as PTI’s executive vice president, and Miguel Zuniga will move into the role of certification program manager.

“I am very excited about both of these promotions,” said Gregory Hunsicker, president of PTI. “Tim has been a key leader in PTI’s organization for more than six years and has greatly contributed to our industry and membership during that time. He has a strong and unique background, which will serve his continued success and expanded role. We look forward to him leading the team in the efforts to share the benefits of post-tensioning across all of the industries our members are engaged.”

Following his previous technical leadership role with PTI, as director of Technical, Education & Promotion Programs, Christle will be stepping into a new role as executive vice president. In this capacity, he will lead the strategic growth of the institute’s technical, certification, education, and promotion programs. He will represent PTI with an external focus on advancing the post-tensioning industry and reinforcing PTI as the leading post-tensioning resource.

Christle’s 33-year career has revolved around post-tensioning every step of the way, with roles in structural engineering and management of national architectural/engineering firms, as well as extensive experience in business development and marketing. He has an active role in several related industry organizations. He holds NCEES certification and is a licensed professional engineer in five states. He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural) and remains supportive of the Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Honor Society, where he once served as the Purdue chapter president.

Hunsicker also commented on the promotion of Zuniga to certification program manager. “He has already been a critical part of the certification programs at PTI and we look forward to him taking on an expanded role in delivering these important industry programs,” he said. “He has been instrumental in many aspects of managing and developing the certification programs, and even teaching many courses himself.”

Joining PTI in 2021 as a certification engineer, Zuniga will be transitioning into the position of certification program manager. In this new role, he will manage and lead the PTI plant certification and field personnel certification programs with a focus on improving existing program elements and strategically expanding each program in response to post-tensioning industry needs.

Zuniga’s career includes roles in project management and consulting, as well as extensive experience in detailing, estimating, and consulting within the post-tensioning industry. He has participated in the translation of PTI’s published documents as well as their online e-courses. Zuniga graduated from California State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in structural design as well as receiving a minor in Human Communications.
