FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) is pleased to announce the release of its updated publication “Recommendations for Stay Cable Design, Testing, and Installation” (DC45.1-18), written by PTI Committee DC-45: Cable Stayed Bridge.
Published in September 2018, the publication provides recommendations pertaining to the design, testing, and installation of stay cables for cable stayed bridges using prestressing wires, strand, or bar as the main tension element. Those who are involved in the construction cable stayed bridges, such as engineers, contractors, and federal entities will benefit from purchasing this publication.
The publication includes updates in three key areas from the 2012 version: saddle testing provisions, fire resistance qualification testing, and vibration control system requirements.
Furthermore, this publication is intended to be used in conjunction with the appropriate provisions of the “LRFD Bridge Design Specifications” from the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO LRFD).
