This Guide provides knowledge about all aspects of post-tensioning design and construction of concrete buildings designed in accordance with ACI 318 Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete. Although it is primarily intended for design professionals it provides useful information to others involved with all kinds of post-tensioned concrete buildings.

Information in this Guide makes the designer and the project manager confident in having relevant knowledge to design and build better structures. For example, Chapter 6 includes preliminary design tables that give the reader a feel for preliminary member sizes and the magnitude of post-tensioning and nonprestressed reinforcement that can be used for preliminary estimation of material quantities and is not available elsewhere. An Appendix provides sample general notes and standard details for structural drawings, another great design aid for the user.
